Reap What You Sow

Now I am confident this is not the first time you have heard the saying, “you reap what you sow.”  This has been taught for centuries and can be found in all kinds of books and scriptures.

The basis of you reap what you sow is what you give comes back to you in like kind.  You do good, you receive good and vice versa.

In business or sales, we understand this to be doing the work of telling people about what we have to offer.  The more people we tell the higher the odds that we sale more goods or services.

My whole adult life has been spent in personal development.  Early on I did a little hear and a little there.  Guess what, I got a little better.  Five years ago, I started getting up at 4AM and doing 2 hours or more every day in personal developing in all areas.  I was putting more in and in turn have received much more back.

Here is the thing which I have struggled with and I bet you have as well.  We give and we give but we are not seeing the fruits of our labor.  It was not until very recently I started to see why this was happening in my life, so I want to share it with you.  This one thought has changed the way I reap and sow.

In the parable I always thought of myself as the farmer.  My job was to plant the seed, nurture it and way for a plentiful harvest.  This is why, I was not getting the results I wanted from my efforts.  When the thought came to me that I am not just the farmer in the story but also the Sun it became clear.

Grow so your light attracts that which you seek.

You see if you do all the work sowing but are not developing yourself.  Your light will not be strong enough to grow your crop.  You can plant all the seeds you want, water them add fertilizer and weed the garden, but until you give them the light they will not grow to the level you are hoping.

Invest in your personal development.  Become the light that attracts and do not hide it from the world.  Most people say the rich get richer, but I feel it is those that are developed and can show others how to do the same that find true riches.

Study and read all you can find, attend seminars and grow as an individual.  This is the key to finding peace and the life you genuinely want.

If you get stuck along the way contact me and we can figure out what it is that you need to focus on differently.

As Zig Ziglar always said, “you can have anything in life you want if you help enough other people get what they want.”  Develop yourself so you can truly reap what you sow.
